The City Board of Equalization consists of members of the governing body. The Board of Equalization meets to equalize and correct the assessment list submitted by the assessor. If a person is the assessor for two or more cities or townships, then the city auditor, after consulting with the assessor, sets an alternate date in April for the equalization meeting. At least 10 days prior to the alternate meeting, the city auditor will post a notice at the usual meeting place and publish a notice in the official newspaper of the city. The notice must state the meeting time and date.
