Captain Michael Reitan was promoted to the position of Captain on May 3, 2005. Captain Reitan has served with the West Fargo Police Department since 1987. Previously he held the position of Patrol Sergeant.
He is a graduate (2000) of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (FBINA)
Captain Reitan is currently assigned as a Chief Master Sergeant (E9) with the ND Air National Guard Civil Engineering Squadron, Fargo with 29+ years of service.
Reitan is a graduate of the University of Mary with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.
He lives in West Fargo with wife Michelle and two sons.
