Assistant Chief Michael Reitan was promoted to the position of Assistant Chief in January 7, 2008. Previously he held the position of Captain since May 3, 2005. Reitan has served with the West Fargo Police Department since 1987. Previously he held the positions of Patrol Sergeant and Patrol Officer.
He is a graduate (2000) of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (FBINA)
Assistant Chief Reitan is currently assigned as a Chief Master Sergeant (E9) with the ND Air National Guard Civil Engineering Squadron, Fargo with 29+ years of service.
Reitan is a graduate of the University of Mary with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.
He lives in West Fargo with wife Michelle and two sons.
