Police Department Employee of the Year Award Winners
We are nominating Toshia Shaw for the West Fargo Police Department Employee of the Year.

Toshia Shaw is a dispatcher with the West Fargo Police Department and has been in that position since April of 1999.

Not only is Toshia a top notch dispatcher, she also has taken on a very large task for the last one and a half years. Toshia has been very instrumental in the implementation of the new Positron 911 System which has been installed at the West Fargo Police Department.

This first began by Dispatcher Shaw applying for a grant to help cover the cost of the new 911 system. This in itself was very time consuming as Toshia worked on the grant for several weeks. The grant was approved because of the fine work done by Toshia.

That was only the start. For the next several months Toshia continued to work daily on this project. Not only did Toshia travel to meetings, take daily calls and conference calls, come in on days off, and work from her home on her days off in order to make this a success, Toshia was at the police department so much that many of us thought she had taken up residency there. Also along with the constant paperwork that was involved in putting this together, there was also all the red tape. Toshia confronted every issue and there were many!! I could go on and on but her tireless approach to making this a reality is a credit to Toshia Shaw and her commitment to making West Fargo a safer community.

Along with all the above, Toshia is also on the board for “APCO”, the Association of Public Communication Officers and meets several times a year throughout the state. Now add a couple of young children and a husband to her daily activities and it is very evident of the energy and stamina of Toshia Shaw.

Toshia Shaw has always displayed courtesy and professionalism, and because of her work ethic she is certainly very deserving of this award.
