Re: Employee of the Year
West Fargo Police Department

I am nominating Detective Brad Berg for the West Fargo Police Department employee of the year. Detective Brad Bert has been with the West Fargo Police Department since October 2000. During this time, Detective Brad Berg has been in charge of the sexual offender files and actively keeps track of the offenders who are registered in the City of West Fargo and keeps a complete list of those not only living here, but who are also working in the City of West Fargo. Detective Brad Berg is also involved with taking care of the warrant files and actively goes out and tracks down those who do not abide by the court decisions.

Detective Berg is also involved with the Governors Task Force on sexual offenders and meets monthly at different sites throughout the state on what's changing or what needs to be changed and regulating those sexual offenders who have been released and what guidelines are best to keep track of those offenders.

Since the time that Detective Brad Berg has been at the West Fargo Police Department and has been in investigations, he has done exemplary work. He is always giving of his time and always goes the extra mile to get the job done. Detective Berg has always shown professionalism and has always had a good working relationship with other law enforcement in the area. His tireless approach to the job and continued dedication to the job makes Brad an asset to the West Fargo Police Department. Detective Brad Berg has also been very instrumental in investigating the homicide in Moorhead as Brad helped the Moorhead Police Department with identifying the suspects and other people involved as Brad had dealt with a number of those people in recent past in reference to other cases in the City of West Fargo. Because of those contacts, Detective Brad Berg made, what could have been a very long and lengthy homicide investigation in Moorhead, a shorter investigation because of his knowledge of some of the people involved. Detective Brad Berg presently is still involved in that investigation.

Detective Brad Berg is a very integral part of the investigations unit at the West Fargo Police Department and his past attorney experience is very helpful with many of the officers as they come to him when there are legal questions and Detective Berg is very helpful in that area. Also, in relation to those legal questions, Detective Berg instructs search and seizure classes at the academy in Bismarck and Devils Lake periodically for new recruits and also refresher courses involving search and seizure as Detective Brad Berg has also taught at NDSU.

Detective Brad Berg has always put insurmountable time in investigating whatever cases come his way and he has showed professionalism and dedication to his job. Brads exemplary work makes him a great candidate for employee of the year for the West Fargo Police Department.

Dear West Fargo Chamber Members,

I would like to recommend Brad Berg for the West Fargo Police Department Employee of the Year.

I think Brad deserves recognition for his duties performed in the area of offender registration. Some people that were convicted of crimes are required by the State of ND to register with the police department.

Brad keeps track of registered offenders for the City of West Fargo. He not only fills out the forms to get offenders documented with the State of North Dakota, but has also followed up on addresses given by offenders to make sure that they are following through with their registration requirements and actually live where they told us they live.

It is nice to have Brad to go to with questions about the requirements for registered offenders. Brad has organized files and records of registered offenders and we count on him to process and send in paperwork and fingerprints for offenders.

Brad also spends his time on a committee with others in ND about registered offender regulations and keeping track of offenders.

He displays dedication to law enforcement and this task is just one that we count on him to keep running smoothly for our department.

Thank You
