A library card allows you to borrow materials, use online databases, and use the computers in the library. Library cards are free for residents of West Fargo and the West Fargo school district, West Fargo property owners, employees of the West Fargo school district, and employees of the City of West Fargo.
To obtain a library card, individuals must present a photo ID and proof of current address and complete an application form. Application forms are available at the library and online. Individuals may print and fill out an application ahead of time and bring it to the service desk in the library to finish the card processing.
Fargo or Moorhead residents that have a library card from the Fargo Public Library or Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) may get a West Fargo Public Library card for free by presenting a library card from their home library, photo ID, and proof of current address.
All other non-residents must pay an annual fee of $5.00 to obtain a library card.
Card Expiration and Replacement
Library cards expire every 2 years and may be renewed over the phone or in person at the library.
Replacements for lost cards may be purchased for $1.00. Damaged cards may be replaced at no charge.
Children and Teens
The West Fargo Public Library supports literacy at all ages by inviting children and teens to obtain their own library cards. An application for a child under 14 must be signed by a parent or legal guardian who assumes full responsibility for any materials used by the child. The parent must provide identification and proof of current address.
Want to use only the library's online resources? The West Fargo Public Library E-card may be the option for you. You can apply online to obtain an E-card and gain access to the library's online resources.
